Our Operation: Bright Future! program consists of a group of services that our organization provides to the community free of charge that revolve around the youth and the elderly. The Vanguards of Cleveland membership believes that we are truly blessed to be allowed to serve our community in the capacity as firefighters and greatly appreciate all of the tangible and intangible benefits that come along with it. A common saying within our international organization is "All that I Am I Owe. I Live Eternally in the Red." This is the core of all that we do and deem it our duty to provide the following services to our community.

• Smoke Detector Installation - We provide smoke detectors to City of Cleveland residents FREE OF CHARGE including installation into any owner occupied residential dwelling. We have the unique ability to provide smoke detectors with 10-year lithium ion batteries. These detectors have the benefit of operating up to ten years without the need to change the battery. The units are sealed and will alert the resident when the battery is low with a low tone emission. At this time the unit is replaced. To our knowledge we are the only agency in the Northeast  Ohio area to offer detectors such as these at no charge. Life Safety Trailer

The Vanguards of Cleveland operate a 40 Ft. Life Safety Trailer within the community so that we can bring our fire safety programming to any location. The unit is fully self contained with its own environmental and power supply sources. We are able to simulate the realistic smoke conditions of a house fire in a safe environment for demonstration and training purposes. We also have the ability to simulate tornado and hurricane conditions for safety and evacuation training. below are some of the specific educational programming areas that we provide:

• 911 emergency call training
• Residential fire escape planning
• Tornado safety training
• Cooking safety
• General fire safety skills

We provide these services within the City of Cleveland for community organizations, educational and religious institutions free of charge as a service to our fellow citizens. Many times we partner with Mayor Frank Jackson's office and Cleveland City Council to at numerous events during the year.
